Step 1: Create a Facebook Pixel
Go to Facebook Events Manager:
- Log in to your Facebook account and navigate to the "Events Manager" at business.facebook.com/events_manager.
Create a Pixel:
- Click on the "Connect Data Sources" button and select "Web" to create a pixel for your website.
Choose a Name:
- Enter a name for your pixel and click "Continue."
Install Pixel Code:
- You'll see options to install the pixel code. Choose the method that works for you. Options include manually adding the code to your website, using a tag manager, or using a partner integration.
Step 2: Install Pixel Code
Choose one of the following methods to install the Facebook Pixel code on your website:
Manually Add Code:
- Copy the entire pixel base code (a script) from the Events Manager.
- Paste the code between the
<head></head>tags of every page on your website.
Use a Tag Manager (e.g., Google Tag Manager):
- If you use a tag manager, follow the instructions for your specific tag manager.
- Add a new tag for the Facebook Pixel and paste the Pixel ID.
Use a Partner Integration:
- If you're using an e-commerce platform or content management system (CMS), you might have the option to integrate the pixel directly.
Step 3: Verify Pixel Installation
After you've added the code, go back to the Events Manager and click on "Continue." Facebook will check if the pixel is active and receiving data.

Use the Facebook Pixel Helper browser extension to check if your pixel is working correctly. The extension is available for Chrome.
Step 6: Start Using Data
Once your pixel is set up and verified, it will start collecting data. You can use this data to track the performance of your Facebook ads and optimize them for better results.
