1. Create a Facebook Developer Account:
- If you don't have one, create a Facebook Developer account by visiting the Facebook Developer website.
2. Create a New Facebook App:
- Once logged into the Facebook Developer portal, click on "Get Started" in the top right corner.
- Choose "For Everything Else" under "What do you need your app to do?".
- Fill in the required details for your new app (App Display Name, Contact Email, Purpose of Use, etc.).
3. Configure Basic Settings:
- After creating the app, go to the app dashboard.
- Under the "Settings" tab, provide the necessary details, including your contact email, privacy policy URL, and terms of service URL.
4. Create App ID and App Secret:
- Under the "Settings" tab, you'll find your "App ID" and "App Secret."
- Note: Keep your App Secret secure and never expose it publicly, as it's a sensitive credential.
5. Configure OAuth Settings:
- In the Facebook Developer portal, navigate to the "Facebook Login" tab in the left sidebar.
- Under "Settings," configure your OAuth settings. Set the "Valid OAuth Redirect URIs" to the URL where Facebook should redirect users after they log in.
6. Implement Facebook Login in Your App:
- Integrate Facebook SDK into your application.
- Use the App ID in your code to initiate the login process.
7. Handle User Authentication:
- Once the user successfully logs in using Facebook, your app will receive an access token and other user information.
8. Test Facebook Login:
- During development, use the Facebook Login functionality in your testing environment.
- Facebook provides a "Test Users" feature for testing different scenarios.
9. App Review (If Applicable):
- If you're planning to make your app public and request additional permissions, you might need to submit your app for review by Facebook.
10. Compliance with Facebook Policies:
- Ensure your app complies with Facebook's policies regarding user data and app functionality.
